NoHo West is a major mixed-use redevelopment situated on the site of the former Laurel Plaza in North Hollywood. Originally built in 1950, the 25-acre property had fallen into disrepair following the 1994 Northridge earthquake, which left many of the original structures damaged or demolished. One of the few remaining buildings, formerly a Macy’s department store, is now being adapted for modern commercial use as part of the larger NoHo West revitalization.

As part of this high-profile transformation, NMN Construction was brought on to perform a substantial structural concrete and shotcrete scope. Our work included the placement of over 7,000 cubic yards of shotcrete for new shear walls, structural foundation work, concrete encasement for structural steel columns, and topping slabs. The retrofit phase also involved extensive drill-and-epoxy work, over 80,000 dowel holes, as well as surface preparation to ¼” amplitude for bonding new concrete to existing elements.

This project is a standout example of our expertise in large-scale shotcrete application and structural retrofit on complex urban redevelopment projects.
