After the Route Fire caused significant damage to the Interstate 5 corridor in Castaic, Caltrans initiated an emergency repair effort to restore traffic flow and stabilize the surrounding infrastructure. NMN Construction was brought on by Security Paving to perform the structural concrete scope, including shotcrete repair of a fire-damaged soil nail wall.

Working under tight time constraints and limited access conditions, NMN crews repaired the soil nail wall using the shotcrete method. Our team’s expertise and commitment to quality ensured a durable solution that aligned with Caltrans’ demanding schedule.

This project was recognized for its innovative planning and accelerated execution. Caltrans and its project partners were able to reopen three northbound lanes of Interstate 5 to the public ahead of schedule, helping to reduce traffic congestion and restore mobility for the surrounding communities.

NMN Construction is proud to have contributed to the emergency response and to the successful rehabilitation of a vital transportation corridor.
