As part of Cal State Fullerton’s Visual Arts Campus modernization, NMN Construction was brought in to deliver foundational concrete and seismic retrofit services that supported both the artistic and structural ambitions of the new complex. Our scope included footings, foundations, slab on grade, and walls, alongside a key retrofit strategy: the application of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) for seismic strengthening of a two-level building.

FRP was selected for its high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance—an ideal solution for discreetly fortifying a campus structure undergoing creative revitalization. The system provides long-term durability without compromising the architectural integrity or aesthetic of the space, aligning with the university’s forward-looking mission. This effort helped set the foundation—literally and figuratively—for a dynamic, collaborative environment where art and engineering meet.
